Why we included
Pilates

Pilates was included because Foundry Padel Club was never intended to be only about time spent on court. It supports the wider purpose of the Club — helping people play, train, recover, build strength and feel part of an active community. Reformer Pilates gives people a way to develop strength, mobility and body awareness, without the experience feeling intimidating or repetitive.

“From the beginning, we wanted Foundry to be about more than just padel. Reformer Pilates felt like the perfect complement - building strength, mobility and body awareness in a way that supports how we move on and off the court.”

Grace

The studio is intimate, with just five reformers, so instructors can properly see and support each person. Sessions should feel calm, welcoming and personal, while still giving people the energy and encouragement of a group class.

What Pilates Helps With

Feel Stronger, More Mobile and More in Control

Pilates

Pilates gives people a structured way to build strength, mobility and body awareness — without relying on heavy weights or high-impact training. It asks you to move with precision and control, helping you become more aware of how your body feels, moves and responds.

At Foundry, the aim is for people to notice practical changes: feeling stronger, more mobile, less stiff and more confident in what their bodies can do. For some, Pilates will support everyday movement. For others, it may be part of rebuilding strength, returning to exercise, or simply feeling
better in their body.

Who It Is For

For different bodies, and starting points

You don't need to be experienced, especially flexible, or already confident in a studio to begin Pilates at Foundry Padel Club. Classes are designed for people with different starting points: complete beginners, padel players, experienced Pilates users, people returning to exercise, and anyone who wants to feel stronger, more mobile and more in control of how they move.

Standard reformer classes are open to people aged 16 and over. Instructors can offer support or add challenge through layers and modifications, helping each person work at a level that feels right for them.

“We want people to walk in feeling calm and comfortable, never intimidated, but leave feeling challenged, energised and proud of what they’ve done.”

Reformer & Mat Pilates

Two ways to build strength and control

Pilates

Some classes will use the reformer: a specialist Pilates bed with a moving carriage and spring resistance that can support, challenge and guide the body through controlled movement. Other classes may be mat-based, using bodyweight, breath and precise instruction to build strength, mobility and awareness.

Our studio includes five Merrithew reformers. Merrithew is a globally recognised Pilates education and equipment company, widely used by instructors and studios. This allows reformer Pilates to sit at the heart of the programme while leaving room for mat-based classes as the timetable develops.

How To Start

Your first class should feel straight forward

Pilates classes at Foundry Padel Club are booked through TeamUp. If you're using TeamUp for the first time, you'll need to create an account once — after that, future bookings should be quicker.

Choose the class that best matches your experience and how you want to move. If you're new to Pilates or unsure where to begin, start with an introductory or foundations class where available, or get in touch with the team before booking.

Pilates

Before your first Pilates class

Are reformer classes suitable for beginners?

Yes, but beginners should choose an introductory or foundations class where available. If you are unsure which class to book, contact the team before your first visit.

What should I wear?

Wear comfortable clothing you can move in. Choose something fitted enough for the instructor to see your alignment, but comfortable enough to stretch, bend and lie down in. Grip socks are essential for reformer Pilates because they help with stability and hygiene.

What should I bring?

Bring a refillable water bottle and a small towel. If you plan to use the showers afterwards, bring a larger towel too.

When should I arrive?

For your first class, arrive at least 10 minutes early so you can find the studio, meet the instructor and get settled before the class begins.

What happens if I am late?

Late entry may not be possible once a class has started, especially if you miss the safety introduction or warm-up. This is to protect your safety and avoid disrupting the class.

What is the minimum age?

Standard reformer classes at Foundry Padel Club are open to people aged 16 and over.

Can I attend if I am pregnant or post-natal?

Please contact us before booking if you are pregnant, post-natal or have any medical concerns. The team can help you understand which classes may be suitable and whether you should seek medical advice first.

Are there changing rooms and showers?

Yes. We have on-site changing rooms, showers and a small number of lockers, but we suggest bringing only what you need.

How do cancellations work?

Cancellation terms will be shown in TeamUp when you book. Please check the booking terms carefully before confirming your class.
